Techniques I apply
as a physiotherapist
Manual therapy
Manual therapy is a fundamental technique in my physical therapy approach. With this technique, I use my expert hands to treat a variety of conditions. I will work directly on pain points, applying controlled pressure and precise movements to relieve muscle tension and improve circulation. It is also effective in reducing stiffness and pain in scars, which can be especially helpful after a cesarean section or episiotomy. Manual therapy not only relieves discomfort, but also helps relax tissues, promoting faster recovery and greater comfort.
Radiofrequency (INDIBA)
Radiofrequency is an advanced technique that we use in specific cases, such as abdominal diastasis. INDIBA is a technology that takes advantage of radiofrequency energy to improve tissue quality. In the case of abdominal diastasis, this technique helps to tighten and strengthen the abdominal muscles, which is crucial to close the separation of the rectus abdominis muscles and restore firmness to the area. It is a non-invasive and comfortable procedure that can be highly effective for recovery.
Electrostimulation
Electrostimulation is a technique that we use to accelerate muscle strengthening and more easily recruit muscle fibers. During the sessions, controlled electrical impulses are applied through electrodes placed on the skin. These impulses stimulate the muscles, which helps strengthen them and improve their function. It is especially beneficial in strengthening the pelvic floor and other important muscle groups. Electrostimulation is an effective way to accelerate muscle recovery and improve function in a shorter period of time.
Biofeedback
Biofeedback is a valuable tool that we use in a playful and objective way to teach the activation of the abdominal girdle and the pelvic floor. During biofeedback sessions, special sensors are used to monitor muscle activity in real time. This allows patients to visualize and understand how they are activating and controlling their muscles. This real-time feedback makes the muscle strengthening process more effective and educational. Patients can learn to improve their coordination and muscle control more efficiently, which is essential for treating pelvic floor and other muscle problems.
Planned and Personalized Exercise
Each patient receives a specific, personalized exercise plan designed to address their individual needs. These exercise plans are developed after a thorough evaluation and consider factors such as current physical condition, treatment goals, and any individual limitations or concerns. Planned exercises are essential for recovery and strengthening. I work closely with you to ensure the exercises are effective and comfortable, and provide you with the guidance needed to perform them safely at home or in the appropriate environment.
